Tatted Snowflake Medallion Patterns

Tatted Snowflake

Tatted Snowflake patterns ~ Today’s freebie vintage pattern is three tatted medallions. The patterns are from a 1949 American Thread Company booklet.

I believe they are so pretty they can pass for snowflakes. To hang on the tree, mantel or anywhere for winter decor.

How To Make Stiffener

Before going onto the patterns, you may want to know how to stiffen a snowflake you have tatted or crocheted. You’re in luck, here’s a blog post done a while ago that explains a couple ways to stiffen your crochet work.

How to Make Stiffener for Crochet Projects

Snowflake Number One

Number one snowflake or pattern No. 3024 is an eight sided star.

Only the first pattern has the materials required, but they all use the same Mercerized Tatting Cotton. No size is listed, but a size between 50 and 70, maybe even 80, should work.
