To clarify, a No. 2½ can translates to 3½ cups or 27 to 29 ounces of fruit. A No. 2 can is 2½ cups or 20 ounces. Also, a greengage plum is the color of a granny smith apple and the size of an apricot. It’s firm, sweet and has a syrup like juice.

This would be yummy alone as a dessert or served over vanilla ice cream.

Acorn Potholder

I’ve posted another pot holder pattern and recipe from this booklet for Maple Sugar Graham Crackers and an Acorn Potholder.

The main body of each potholder is the same. The fruits, Apple, Pear and Strawberries, have a separate set of instructions.

Mercerized Crochet Cotton is used for the body of the holder. Six strand mercerized embroidery cotton floss and pearl cotton are used for the fruit decoration. The crochet hook size is No. 8 or No. 9.
