Apple Crochet Patterns
What is more appropriate for Autumn than an Apple Crochet Patterns Kitchen Set. These crochet patterns include a rug, which is the main pattern, a chair cover and pot holders.
You’ll find these patterns in the 1956 Coats and Clark’s Decorating Ideas to Crochet book No. 323.
Apple Crochet Threads
This is the first page of instructions. Notice the very 1950’s graphics used in this booklet at the top of the instruction page, ideas to crochet.
Download Instructions: Right-Click on the image. Select either “save link as” or “save image as” depending on what browser you are using. Or simply click on it, it will open in a new window and save it from there.
One of the yarns you’ll need is a color called Killarney. This is a green, close to a dark green.
The apple crochet patterns thread is Coats and Clark’s Speed Cro-Sheen in a Spanish Red for the apples. Speed Cro-Sheen is a Size 3 Mercerized Cotton crochet thread. It came in 100 yard balls.
A couple substitutes are DMC Petra Crochet Cotton Size 3 and Aunt Lydia’s Fashion Crochet Size 3.
A white six strand embroidery floss is used for the white accents on the apples. I’d say those are optional.
Second Page of Instructions
You’ll see that the stool cover and pot holder are worked the same as the rug until a certain round.

Abbreviations
This image gives you the crochet abbreviations you’ll need for the pattern. I left the Coats and Clark’s cotton balls of thread images with the abbreviations.
PDF Pattern Download
You’ll find the PDF pattern download link below. The file is 2 pages and includes the abbreviations. I didn’t include the images of the finished apple set since in color it would take a lot of printer ink.

The pattern is in PDF format so to read it you’ll need the Adobe Reader software on your computer. Most computers come with it, but it is free and can be found here.
