Dog Sweater

Dog sweater knitting pattern
With all this cold weather in addition to us bundling up, our furry friends need to wear a sweater outside too. You’ll find today’s free vintage knitting pattern for a dog sweater included in the 1962 Coats and Clark’s Book No. 133.

It uses a pair of Size 6 straight knitting needles and one set of Double-pointed needles No. 6.

Any 4-Ply Knitting Worsted yarn will work for this dog sweater.

What size dog does this sweater fit?

The sweater fits sizes 8 to 20 inches (20.32 – 50.8 cm) when measuring from the base of the neck to tail. Body chest size in inches is from 10½ to 19 (26.67 – 48.26 cm). It will fit most small to medium sized dogs, but not a large breed.
