Stuffed Animal Patterns and Sock Puppet

Easy Scrapcrafts

Do you have kiddos at home? I’ve been sending the grandkids craft kits to keep them busy during this long break from school. Even something that can keep them busy for an hour or so is a good thing for parents and children.

Looking through my vintage booklets I found two that might fit the bill for some fun activities. One is 365 Easy Scrapcraft Ideas ~ A Pack-O-Fun Booklet. The Crocodile sock puppet instructions below comes from there.

Crocodile Puppet Instructions

This sock puppet is not included in the PDF file so here’s the Download Instructions: Right-Click on the image. Select either “save link as” or “save image as” depending on what browser you are using. Or simply click on it, it will open in a new window and save it from there.

What Can I Do Now, Mother?

The next is an older booklet I picked up quite a while ago. First published in 1937 then reprinted several times, until my copy dated 1949.

It’s titled What Can I Do Now, Mother? Have you been hearing that question lately? I scanned four pages on Stuffed Animals and Hand Puppets.

You’ll find stuffed animal patterns for a rabbit and cat as-well-as another sock craft, a stocking cat. The hand puppets use small paper bags.

Bunny Pattern

Because of the date of this booklet the bunny pattern below is for an Oilcloth Rabbit, but any kind of fabric or felt could be used. Oilcloth is similar to a vinyl tablecloth with a cotton backing. Made to be waterproof.

Stuffed Kitty

The stuffed kitty is also made of oilcloth, but again the pattern would work with any type of fabric.
