Spider Web Doily Crochet Pattern

Spider Web Doily

We’re coming to the end of October and Halloween is soon approaching. I found this pretty, not scary, Spider Web Doily crochet pattern to go along with a Halloween theme.

Spider Web Doily Crochet Pattern

This crochet pattern mimics a spider web. It’s circular and lacy. You’ll see it on the cover of the 1950 American Thread Company Star Book No. 71 — Doily Bouquet.

The Spider Web Doily is in the lower right hand corner of the cover.

Not only am I sharing the Spider Web Doily, but also back in 2011 I shared the crochet pattern for the holiday Holly Wreath Doily in the upper left hand corner of the cover.

Find it here: Holly Wreath Doily Crochet Pattern

Several copies of this Star Book are available from third party sellers on Amazon. If you’re interested in buying one, the link below will take you to the books for sale.

It includes these doily patterns: Spider Web, Rose Ruffle, Grape, Violet, Flower Bouquet, Butterfly, Cameo Girl, and Holly Wreath

American Thread Company

The crochet pattern includes several different threads you can use to make the doily. Each will give you a different size. In order to decide what thread to use, see the chart below:

Since there’s not much that describes the threads in this chart besides the sizes, take a look at this page, Discontinued Yarns and Threads on my blog, there you’ll find a list of American Thread Company mercerized cotton thread descriptions. It will help you find a substitute thread for the crochet pattern.
