Men’s Knit and Crochet Patterns for Summer

You may have seen this groovy photo of men in knitted and crocheted sleeveless tank tops and a rippled poncho floating around the internet. Well I’ve found them in my collection and today I’m sharing the patterns.

Mens Summer Knit and Crochet Patterns

A ripple poncho, oh yes, on a cool summer night on the beach. 🙂

These patterns, two crocheted and one knitted are from a 1970 Aunt Lydia’s Rug Yarn Collection pattern booklet. American Thread Star Book 225.

With names like By the He Sea how can you go wrong.

Oh Debra, these are awful! LOL! So glad you’re sharing the real patterns, though- I’m sure there are tons of people out there wondering where it could be found. & here you have it!

You know, I have to laugh at people, just because these photos exist does not mean in any way that people actually WORE these things. I do recall vividly some of the outfits worn back then, the butterfly dresses for one- and Pucci pop-art style matching pants-suits, but I have never, ever seen a man wearing a crocheted… anything.

Yes, this was a fun post. You’re right about the people actually wearing these. I wonder if there are any photos out there of men wearing garments made from these patterns.
