Star Spangled 4th of July
Bonnet and Bag Crochet Pattern ~ It’s the 4th of July next week. I’ve found a cute Star Spangled Bonnet and Bag Crochet Pattern for it. I’m not sure about the bonnet, but the little petal bag is adorable.
The petal bag would be fun to carry yourself or as a gift for someone.

Each is trimmed with pearls and sequins to look like stars.
Bonnet and Bag Materials List
The Star Spangled cotton has metallic flakes in it, but you could certainly use a solid color. Decorating with with the pearl beads and sequins will give it plenty of sparkle.
Star Hat Book 117
The American Thread Co. booklet New Hats doesn’t have a date but it looks like 1950’s to me. The booklet contains crochet and knitting patterns.
In it you’ll find this Star Spangled Bonnet and Bag crochet pattern, a Yellow Bonnet, Black and Gold Beanie, Black and White Tam, Queenie Beanie, String Beanie, a Lacy Cloche, Everywoman’s Cloche, two Bandeaus, a Reversible Cloche, pretty collars, a shortie cape, Hairpin Lace Pirate hat, two girl’s hat and matching bags, and several more hats, all crochet patterns.
Then for knitting patterns a short knitted bulky jacket in sizes 12-14-16, a knitted bulky cardigan in sizes 12-20. Two knitted caps with scarfs and a knitted bat wing bulky sweater.
