Crochet Irish Rose Motif
This particular Irish Rose motif pattern is for a tablecloth, but it could certainly be used for a bedspread and more.
You’ll find many different Irish Rose patterns, but I think this one is stunning and easily conformed to more than just a tablecloth. Later in the post I’ll share more Irish Rose patterns and the links to them.
Irish Rose Crochet Motif
By the Gauge, the Motif measures about 3 inches square after blocking. The tablecloth is 70 x 106 inches including the edging.
A beautiful cloth in traditional design and rosettes with gem-like perfection is how this finished pattern is described.
You can see from the photograph that it is true.
I’ve found several wonderful vintage patterns in this 1943 Hand Crochet by Royal Society Book No. 1. As a matter of fact I just shared one in February. Find them here.
What You Need
Similarly for this pattern you’ll also need Six Cord Crodichet. The crochet thread size is 30 and the hook size is No. 10 or 11. You can still find some Royal Society threads for sale on the internet. Use the illustration and description below to find a good substitute.
