Crepe Paper Flowers
The Dennison Manufacturing Company published a booklet titled How to Make Crepe Paper Flowers. There are several issues out there, mine is the Second Edition from 1929.
The booklet gives complete instructions on how to make 24 different crepe paper flowers.
My copy is a little worse for wear, kind of falling apart. There are a couple copies on Amazon like mine. Plus many more later printings are for sale on Ebay, Etsy, etc. A quick Google search will bring them up.
Easter Lily Directions
Each step is graphically illustrated with photographs and drawings. In addition, below I’ve included the General Instructions (Gen. Instr.) referred to on the Easter Lily direction page.
Download Instructions: Right-Click on the image. Select either “save link as” or “save image as” depending on what browser you are using. Or simply click on it, it will open in a new window and save it from there.
Materials
On the Materials List you’ll notice the approximate cost for all these items in 1929 was $1.70. Not true today.
A best seller on Amazon, this Lia Griffith Heavy Crepe Paper has an assortment of several different colors in each package.
A FIVEWARE Floral Arrangement Tools Kit will have you all ready to start making paper flowers.
Or if you just need the wire, this DECORA 18 Gauge Green Floral Stem Wire is 16 inches and comes in a package of 50.
Petal and Leaves Pattern
A fold out pattern sheet comes with the booklet, mine is missing, so I found one online, but it is not to scale. At least it will give you an idea of the shape you’ll need for the petals and leaves.

Some Helpful Links for Making a Paper Lily
First is this 15 minute YouTube video showing How To Make Easy Paper Flowers. A lily from crepe paper.
Next is an almost 8 minute video showing how to make a calla lily paper flower.
Last, here’s a tutorial on making a paper tiger lily. This is good because it’s step-by-step and shows all the materials necessary. Since the materials list is from 1929 this will help in finding a modern equivalent.
1922 Booklet
One last thing, you can find the 1922 version of this booklet on the Antique Pattern Library website. Here’s the page of Easter Lily instructions from it.
