Barbecue Glove
A BBQ Mitt for Dad ~ In June we celebrate Father’s Day and along with that enjoy many summer barbecues. A perfect fit for today’s freebie is this Dad’s barbecue mitt crochet pattern.
Either a right or left handed person can use this mitt by sewing the letters on the desired side of the BBQ Mitt. In addition, you can use different letters or keep them off completely.
This BBQ mitt uses blue and cream colored yarns, but would be suited for your Dad’s favorite team colors.
Crochet Pattern
The crochet pattern comes from one of the many American Thread Company Star Pot Holder Booklets. This booklet is Number 101 and titled Pot Holders dated 1953.
You’ll use Amercian Thread Company’s famous Aunt Lydia’s Heavy Rug Yarn and a Size H or I crochet hook.
If you can’t find Aunt Lydia’s Rug Yarn, Caron Craft and Rug Yarn is a good substitute. Here’s a link to Ebay for vintage heavy rug yarn for sale.
