Young Love Lacy Openwork Crochet Tablecloth Pattern Instructions

Welcome to this Friday’s VTNS Fan Freebie!

This is a lovely romantic crocheted tablecloth pattern that would go well with a theme of June weddings and summer love. It’s from a 1940 crochet pattern book called Table Treasures by The Spool Cotton Company.

Don’t worry if you can’t finish a large tablecloth, this pretty motif could be used to make a pillow, table scarf or runner.  J&P Coats Mercerized Crochet cotton is used to make the cloths crisp and fresh.

From the same booklet, I thought this may be helpful, a chart for Simple Crochet Stitches and General Information on Gauge, Blocking and Laundering Cotton Articles:

The dainty encircled flower…. lacy openwork in a poetic arrangement – here’s a romantic cloth with a delicate, frosted look!

Like I said in the beginning of the post, this pattern uses J&P Coats Mercerized Crochet thread, size 20 and a No. 8 or 9 steel crochet hook. The blocked motif measures 3¾ inches in diameter. For a tablecloth 45 x 57 inches, make 12 x 15 motifs.
