Cross Stitch Patterns Sunbonnet Girl 1921 Anne Orr
The bonnet girl or sunbonnet sue has been around a long time. Even as early as the 1800’s.

They were first used in school primers to teach children to read.

People fell in love with the bonnet girl’s sunny disposition and started using them in their craft designs, mainly quilting.

But as we see in today’s vintage patterns from 1921, they can be seen in cross stitch designs as well.

Bonnet Girls: Patterns From the Past

This book has been around and popular since 2001:

It’s not surprising since you can choose from 15 Bonnet Girls, their children, menfolk, and pets and create a family. Plus there are more than 30 props – hats, parasols, flowers, animals, and background settings that are interchangeable.

More than just Bonnet Girls

This page of cross stitch patterns include more than theElephant Cross Stitch Pattern bonnet girls. There is a farm boy, an elephant, birds, a horse and a lovely vase of flowers.

Anne Orr is the designer of this page of counted cross stitch.

A color thread chart is not included but the designs are done in color so it will be easy to find the right threads.
