Lazy Daisy Heart Embroidery Pattern

Lazy Daisy Heart

Valentine’s Day is over but hearts never go out of style. Especially vintage ones.

Lazy Daisy Heart Embroidery Pattern Heart Only

This 1963 lazy daisy heart shaped embroidery pattern would be nice on many things. My first thought was on a pillow. For a delicate effect, try using only 2 strands of thread.

The paper included with the design said, it would also be “perfect for hope chest linens any bride would cherish.” Wedding season will soon be upon us so never too early to make a handmade gift.

“Tuck a few sachets between the folds and wrap them with satin or velvet ribbon before giving.”

Lazy Daisy Garland too

The heart comes with a matching garland to tie the embroidery together. The pattern for both of them is below. Later in the blog post you’ll find the PDF file to download.

What I Found on Amazon

I always like to see what I can find on Amazon that would go with the theme or the vintage pattern I’ve shared.

The small amount I earn as an Amazon affiliate helps to keep this blog free and doesn’t add any extra amount to your purchase. Plus, I just like to shop. Too many times I end up buying the items I’ve found. 🙂

Fairway Quilt Blocks, Easy Lazy Daisy Design

First up is this set of 6 quilt blocks. The design caught my eye right away.

They are on pre-stamped white poly/cotton blend fabric. These are done in the lazy daisy stitch.

Two 5 star reviews say, “the pattern is pretty” and “works up fast.” A little over $10 for the set with shipping.

Second is a five star reviewed book The Amazing Stitching Handbook for Kids: 17 Embroidery Stitches by Kristin Nicholas. I chose this book because even if you’re not a kid and you’d like to learn how to embroider, this might be the book for you.

Again the reviews are all positive. Saying, they’ve used it to help teach someone, a good variety of projects and great graphics.

The paperback right now is $14.27 with Prime.

Last is a book titled Embroidery: A Step-by-Step Guide to More Than 200 Stiches. It’s the #1 Best Seller in Embroidery on Amazon and has 95 reviews with a 4.8 star rating.

When you take a Look Inside you can see why. Clear photographs on how to complete over 200 stitches, a comprehensive index, help in choosing the right thread, needles, and fabric plus lots of inspirational ideas.

There are several used copies of the book for sale. It also comes in a Spiral Bound which costs more, but it would be a nice book to be able to lie flat and work out of.

Hi Debra- how have you been feeling? I do hope your health is getting better.

Thank you for sharing these. I look forward to your little patterns each time I check my emails.

Lazy Daisy stitch is one of my “go to” stitches. It does use up thread. I never thought of using it in a pattern like this, it’s very dainty, very attractive.

I would like brides to start a trend of hope chests again. We’ve drawn away from the aesthetic in this country, too much. Everything’s digital, modern, plastic.

      Hi Kristen,
Doing well. Only Herceptin treatments until June, then I’ll be done. Very much looking forward to that.

Yes, hope chests again would be a good thing.
      Thanks!
